Crime-Free Lease Addendum

Landlords, we now have a tool to assist you in your business and to make Round Lake Heights a safer, more enjoyable place to live and work. The Crime Free Multi-Housing Program was created by Ordinance 2006-O-14 and establishes an enforceable code of conduct for tenants.

This ordinance will help minimize problems you encounter with certain tenants and will help make Round Lake Heights a better place to live. Other local communities have also implemented this identical program and have enjoyed the same success that we have.

All landlords are required to attend a Crime Free Multi-Housing Program training session that are held periodically at the Village of Round Lake Heights Hall. Please contact Crime Free Housing Specialist Gina Conover at (847) 546-9704 ext. 306 to inquire about upcoming classes.

Every Landlord is required to attend, even if you have only one residential rental unit. If you have a property manager that is not the owner, they can attend on your behalf. The property manager cannot be the tenant. If you have attended the Crime Free Multi-Housing class within the last two years from another municipality, we will accept that class when you provide proof (certificate) of attendance to us.
